簡介：　　故事發(fā)生在一間名為“鳥籠”的夜總會中，艾伯特（內森·連恩 Nathan Lane 飾）是其中的當家花旦，不僅如此，他和夜總會的老板阿曼德（羅賓·威廉姆斯 Robin Williams 飾）還是出雙入對的同性情人。　　某日，阿曼德同前妻所生的兒子瓦爾（丹·福特曼 Dan Futterman 飾）找到了老爸，喜滋滋的告訴他他即將帶著未婚妻芭芭拉（卡莉斯塔·弗洛克哈特 Calista Flockhart 飾）前來造訪。阿曼德在感到欣喜的同時亦十分緊張，因為芭芭拉的父母凱文（吉恩·哈克曼 Gene Hackman 飾）和路易斯（黛安娜·維斯特 Dianne Wiest 飾）是保守派人士，如果讓他們知道了自己同艾伯特之間的關系，兒子的婚事可能就要岌岌可危了。于是，阿曼德開始勸說艾伯特，讓他假扮成為一個正常人，表面上答應了阿曼德的請求，艾伯特的內心里卻十分郁悶。

The feelings of bitterness and emptiness in the modern Chandleresque protagonist originate not only in the “public” sphere of the strange, increasingly convoluted case, but in his private life as well (boyhood trauma, a broken marriage). As Moseby remarks of a sporting event, “nobody’s winning … one side is just losing slower than the other.”
