簡介：BBC 2008 年底播出了最新版本的《三十九級臺階》，故事是名著改編，主演是英俊小生、剛剛離開BBC的 Spooks 系列的 Rupert Penry-Jones，但是整部片子卻拍得十分平淡，在懸疑設計上頗有偷工減料之感，連男主角也顯得心不在焉，總體來說，比不上《三十九級臺階》的其它改編版本。 蘇格蘭作家 John Buchan 的小說《三十九級臺階》說得是一個在非洲生活多年的英國人漢內(nèi)被意外卷入間諜案，挺身而出與敵人周旋的故事。1915年出版之后馬上引起轟動，之后被四次拍成電影或電視。有趣的是，每次改編，編劇們常常借用上次改編中出現(xiàn)的經(jīng)典場景，以至于一些反復出現(xiàn)的情節(jié)其實并非出于原著。而“三十九級臺階”的含義也被改來改去，到2008年，還是回到真正的“臺階”上。
