WWT National Wetland Centre Wales
Championing wetlands for wildlife and people in Wales and across the world.

The Wetland Centre Wales is one of nine specialist wetland visitor centres across the UK run by WWT. The Llanelli reserve encompasses saltmarsh, freshwater lagoons and the millennium wetlands; a complex of pools, grassy banks and reedbeds. Along the many pathways around the site, there are many interpretative panels and several observation hides.

The Centre’s education staff offer a range of activities for school and community groups, linked to the collection birds and the different types of wetland around the site. A teacher information pack is available on-line with learning ideas and materials, including curriculum-linked lesson plans.

Sustainability Themes:

Water
Education and Training (ESDGC)
Biodiversity
Animal Welfare

There is a charge for visitors and groups should book in advance for guided tours and special activities. The site includes a dedicated classroom area, toilets, shop, café, play areas and picnic areas. Most public parts of the Centre are fully accessible with tarmac or gravel paths throughout the grounds. There is ample free car and coach parking.

There are volunteer opportunities with this Trail project.
