Swansea Community Farm
An exemplar in sustainable living and community-focused activities.
Swansea Community Farm is a small working farm which is home to a variety of rare breed farm animals and provides demonstrations of organic growing, wildlife gardening and composting. There is an orchard and apiary, and a small café serving fair trade, organic, local and seasonal produce.
The project has well-established volunteer and youth engagement schemes, and education and training programmes. The Farm also helps to manage the adjacent Cadle Heath Local Nature Reserve. The purpose-designed buildings and grounds have been built with several environmentally friendly features including solar panels, a wood burner, rain water collection and water saving devices, reclaimed building materials and wool insulation.

The Farm is open to the public Monday to Saturday 10am–4pm. Entry is free but donations are most welcome. School and community groups are welcome by prior arrangement and a fee is usually charged.
The site includes indoor and outdoor teaching areas, toilets and hand-washing facilities. There is a small car park on site and a bus stop close by. Most of the paths around the site are wheelchair accessible.
There are volunteer opportunities with this Trail project.
