Penderry Green Map
and The Penderry map roughly covers the areas of Blaenymaes and Penlan and looks at the environmental, sustainable and community features found there. As well as large areas of suburban housing, the area has some beautiful green spaces one of which is the local nature reserve on Cadle Common, a great place to spot a variety of birds (top right).
A further short walk will take you to the bottom of Penllergare Valley Woods which has miles of beautiful walks and is also a great place to volunteer.
Mynydd-bach Common is another area that supports an abundance of wildlife and is great for walking, and you will also find a few nice parks too - the photo (bottom right) shows the view from Knoyle Park, with Aberavon beach in the distance.
