Penclawdd Local Produce and Craft Market
An example of local produce market and community hub.
The Penclawdd Local Produce and Craft Market is one of several community enterprise in Swansea that supports local growers and producers and in so doing encourages a sense of community and helps to reduce food miles and the local carbon footprint. The market takes places every 3rd Saturday of the month and has become a community social event. There are a wide variety of produce stalls selling locally produced fish and meats, fruit and vegetables, breads and cakes, eggs and cheeses. The craft market includes woodturning, glassware, candles, plants and jewellery.
The market was established by the CLP (Crofty, Llanmorlais and Penclawdd) Development Group which has also initiated and supported several other local community projects including the Gower Voluntary Transport Service, the North Gower Cycle Trail and the North Gower Woodland Project.

The Penclawdd Community Centre provides the office base for some community projects but is generally only open to the public for pre-organised events. There are toilets and meeting rooms and there is a small café serving Fairtrade tea and coffee on market day. There is a car park on street parking but this can get very busy when the market is on.
There are volunteer opportunities with this Trail project.
