Oxfam Shops
Exemplars in the reuse of unwanted goods and promotion of global issues.

Oxfam is one of the world’s largest development, relief and campaigning organisations and there are two Oxfam charity shops in Swansea which promote the reuse of goods to raise funds and reduce materials going to landfill.

The Union Street branch sells Fairtrade food and gifts, as well as used clothes and donated household items. The Castle Street shop specialises in books, music and film and also exhibits artwork by local artists and schools on sustainability themes. Both shops provide information and organise local activities in support of Oxfam national campaigns.

Sustainability Themes:

Waste Management
Global Links
Education and Training (ESDGC)
Community Action

Small groups are welcome to visit either shop, by arrangement. Staff and volunteers also offer school-based talks and activities linked to fair trade and global citizenship. The shops are located within busy shopping areas and so on-street parking or dropping off can be difficult. Car parks and bus stops are close by.

There are volunteer opportunities with this Trail project.
