Lorien Business Services

Lorien Business Services is a small home-based design and print business run by Lesley Walton - offering wedding, business and personal stationary services. Much of the business activity involves the use of paper, card and printing inks and the owner has sought to minimise the environmental impact and costs associated with these by following the three ‘R’s – reducing, reusing and recycling as much as possible.
Paper is printed on both sides when appropriate, scrap materials are used for drafts and for creating smaller craft items, and envelopes and packing is reused. Recycled print cartridges are used and returned for reuse.
All aspects of the household kerbside collection scheme is utilised and food waste is composted in the garden, where rain water is also collected. In addition, Lesley has become a recycling bag holder for local residents enabling neighbours to easily stock up on kerbside bags directly from her home.
The judges said that Lesley is clearly passionate about recycling and waste reduction and her enthusiasm should be applauded.
