The Sustainable Swansea initiative was established in 2004 and aims to help make Swansea to be a more sustainable place to live, work, and visit.

Sustainable Swansea is made up of a number of key projects;

• The Swansea Green Map - highlights over 300 resources that will help you choose more sustainable ways of living. The Green Map is available as a leaflet and is being developed as interactive web based tool.

• Swansea Sustainability Trail - Showcases examples of good practice around Swansea of sustainability in action! Group and school visits can be arranged - contact us.

• Sustainable Swansea Awards Scheme - Recognises, rewards and promotes the achievements of local organisations, groups and individuals that have made an active commitment to good environmental practice and sustainable development.

• The Swansea Bay Alternative Travel Map - An essential companion to help you get out and about in Swansea without your car!


• Planet Penlan - working with the community of Penlan to create their own Green Map
