Healthy Lifestyle

Sustainability and having a healthy lifestyle go hand-in-hand. Interacting with the natural world, whether it is walking in parks and other green spaces, observing wildlife or growing plants and food, can have a very positive impact on our physical and mental health.

Cycling and walking for recreation or to get to places (work, school, shops and community facilities) can help keep us fit and avoid the environmental and health issues associated with motorised transport.

Meeting and interacting with people, perhaps by being part of a club or volunteering with local projects, can also have an important influence on our health.

T.O.P.I.C. House provides older people and carers with easy access to information, advice and support bringing people together, encouraging active citizenship and promoting well-being. The Centre offers social activities such as coffee mornings, a luncheon club, arts and crafts sessions, movement to music classes and IT training. The well-managed garden provides produce for the luncheon club and cooking demonstration workshops.
