Gower Wildflower Cafe
A celebration of biodiversity and exemplar of sustainable building practices.
The Gower Wildflower Cafe showcases the range, properties and uses of local wildflowers through a series of interpretation boards and demonstration habitats such as meadows and ponds. Over 60 native flowering plant species are present on the site.
The Café specialises in seasonal local produce, and there is a small local produce shop. The building has a native wildflower roof which is irrigated by recycled rain water. There is also a small roundhouse on site and a number of interesting sustainable building and environmental management features including ground source energy, rainwater harvesting, a bio-digester and reedbed filter for waste water.
The Cafe is open 10am–5.30pm everyday during summer but times are variable in the winter. Large groups should call in advance to arrange a visit. The site is accessible and there is on site parking.
