Down to Earth Project

An exemplar in sustainable living and education for sustainability.

The Down to Earth Project is a social enterprise and a centre for Sustainability Education (ESDGC) offering a range of educational programmes for disaffected young people and hard to reach groups, and training for education and community workers. It also runs courses in traditional and natural building methods and works with schools and community organisations to design and build outdoor spaces using natural materials.

The project site exhibits a range of sustainability features including cob buildings, renewable energy sources, organic gardening and farming, rainwater harvesting and sustainable waste management techniques.
