Digital Streams Townhill

Thethird Digital Streams project took place in the Townhill/Blaenymaes area of Swansea, along the Hillside Wildlife corridor as well as a few places slightly further afield such as Penllergare Valley woods, Crymlyn Bog and the Tennant Canal. Many of the places we photographed and explored were unknown to a large number of the participants, yet all were places that had made significant contributions towards shaping the landscape of Swansea and supporting the flaura and fauna that can be found there.

Digital Streams 3 - Townhill, Blaenymaes, Crymlyn Bog and the Tennant Canal, the Marina and Swansea Bay
The third Digital Streams project looked at separate communities around Swansea and the different bodies of water that affected them.

Crymlyn Bog and the Tennant Canal
Crymlyn Bog and the Tennant Canal are found to the east of the city. The bog is a SSSI site and one of the most important wetland areas in Europe. The 2 mile stretch of the Tennant Canal between Port Tennant and Jersey Marine is also home to a wide variety of flora and fauna.

Swansea Beach and Marina
Swansea beach and Marina were explored and photographed by two of the groups.

Penllergare Valley Woods
The southerrn most part of Penllergare Valley Woods, borders on the built up area of Blaenymaes, and is a popular place for walking. The woods are home to a wide variety of animals and plants.
